Pei-Lan Tsou is a professor of cell and molecular department at GVSU. As an educator, she cares about college civic engagement and as a scientist, she cares about the future of our planet.

As an immigrant from Taiwan, she knows all too well how important it is to be engaged in politics. Her research projects range from studying storage proteins in orchid embryos to surveillance SARS CoV-2 in waste water.

She has been the precinct delegate in Plainfield Township PCT1 for the last two election cycles. She serves on the endorsement committee and the political organizing committee at the Kent County Democratic Party. She is also a member of the GVSU campus democratic engagement coalition.
